Building Work At The Recreation Ground
This is to let you all know that, after a longer than anticipated wait, the works on upgrading the sports pavilion at the recreation ground are finally due to start on Monday 18th March.
While these building works are taking place, we do ask that all visitors to the rec take extra care and respect the fenced off and restricted areas while the build is in progress. CCTV cameras will be in use at all times.
This work will take approximately 3 months to complete and will include a smart new layout, including toilets and showers for home and away teams, an officials changing area, entrance lobby and new veranda.
Tingewick Football Club are the main users at this time and have for too long put up with old and tired changing facilities for their matches. So we are more than pleased for them to have this new facility.
This new pavilion is something the village can be proud of and will hopefully attract more sport teams to use the recreation space throughout the year…perhaps a village cricket team could be formed…anyone interested ?
